Well, that wasn’t the week we had planned was it? Here we are back at Alert Level 4 and back in our bubbles.
We’re putting a pause on our planned content this week and choosing to check in instead with a short reminder on the support we can offer to your business, regardless of the Alert Level we find ourselves in.
I know this week’s lockdown announcement served as a fresh blow to many kiwi companies, not least those making the most of the domestic tourism and custom our country has been promoting since the first nationwide lockdown in 2020. But, we have done this before and we can do it again.
It was just three short weeks ago that I shared with you my thoughts on the complacency I felt creeping back into our collective psyches, and, as we wake to a third day in lockdown, now is a great time to revisit how we are mitigating pandemic-related related risks to our businesses and profitable growth.
Every crisis presents an opportunity, and our collective opportunity now is to lead by example with behaviours that look after our customers, employees, suppliers and ourselves. Every crisis does pass and by being calm, considered and kind we will get through this.
While another lockdown – and its significant consequences – was unwanted, it does give many of us something we normally do not have: time. Time to work on the business instead of being caught up in the day-to-day. Seize this opportunity, and let’s hope it’s a very short one.
